PROMOTING SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY BETWEEN INDIA AND THE U.S.

Emily Stone Summer Blog 2010

I am currently an M2 at Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science — my interests have changed from bio research to community outreach and engagement. I am implementing programming in lead education (protocol for this study will be on display at the Family Medicine Midwest Conference at UW Madison this November) as well as developing a walking program associated with the national initiative “Walk with a Doc.”
The Khorana Program was a huge resume booster! At many interviews people have mentioned it and my experiences there have helped me to craft responses to common interview questions.
My internship in India although focused on biomedical research and working at a lab bench ultimately planted a seed that I wanted to pursue a path of service to others initially I thought in terms of a global health path but now I am interested in pursuing rural health.
