PROMOTING SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY BETWEEN INDIA AND THE U.S.
Abhishek is 2019 Khorana Scholar. He worked with Dr. Bikash R Pattnaik, of pediatrics/ ophthalmology and visual sciences at the University of Wisconsin Madison, the USA studying the Kir7.1 ion channel and its role in pediatrics blindness. Abhishek completed an integrated master’s in biological sciences from the National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar, India. His Master’s project was to characterize the distribution of dopaminergic receptors in the brain of Indian Catfish. Recently, he has joined the Master in Management program at Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay, India. He has co-founded Biotechticle Research Group, which aims to create a platform where biology enthusiasts undergraduate and graduate students across India can learn, ideate and innovate.
